Boston or Bust..

It was late spring, when we first heard about a tournament in Boston..  We started out unsure, but Jake convinced us, that HE REALLY WANTED TO GO TO THIS Tournament.  It really started after the Montreal Meltdown.. and maybe it was because of the QTR-Final Loss to the Toronto Total Hockey, but he set a goal for himself to become better..

Not that he didn’t do well, but you can tell, he wanted to improve for himself.  He worked hard with Thane, Extreme Edge Goaltending, and the other practices, and opportunities that was provided to him, like Kirk Tomlinson and his Elite Hockey program.

Only 10 Prospects or HHG Elite 03’s went to Boston, and 1 Goalie, Jake…  We initially saw only two lines and a Goalie used in Montreal at the Meltdown.  Boston Jr. Bruins, Montreal Stallion, etc..  Interesting for sure.

Going to Boston was:

  • Jake Goobie – Goober (Goalie)
  • Owen Mullen – Mule (Helping out on defense, normally plays forward)
  • Isaac Abbott (Defense)
  • Matthew Grabmann (Defense)
  • Ryan Dempster – Windows (Defense)
  • Oscar Plandowski (Forward)
  • Ryan Welsh (Forward)
  • Aiden Wiseman (Forward, and Matty’s Cousin from Washington)
  • Cole Foston – Frosty (Forward)
  • Ryan Kidney – Beaner (Forward)
  • Theron Hughes – Tonka (Forward)

The TEAM Was very Successful going 6 – 0 beating teams like:

    • Boston Jr. Bruins
    • New Jersey Avalanche
    • Havervill Jr. Warriors
    • Rochester Avalanche
    • Nova Scotia Atlantic Selects

In speaking with Jake after the game, he felt a sense of accomplishment.  He did get a shutout in the championship game, but that doesn’t come without a GREAT TEAM in front of him.

Well done HHG Elite 03’s..

Thanks to the Coaches:

  • Jon Howse
  • Scott Welsh
  • Derrick Dempster
